HEATHER ABRAHAMSON: BA Mod. (Hons.) Italian &
French, Trinity College. Has many years' experience in Adult
Education.
MARIA BLAKE: Trained and danced with a number of international
teachers. She has many years' experience of the dance.
MONICA BYRNE: Works in counselling, spiritual
development and retreats with adults and young people.
MARIE HELÈNE DOLAN: BA, French & English, Brest
University. Experienced French teacher, including many years in
the Alliance Française, Dublin.
PHILDUNNE:MA, UCD inModern Drama. Has many years'
experience teaching English literature from Primary School
level to adult level.
SR. ELIZABETH FITZPATRICK: MA in Christian
Spirituality, Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. Qualified
spiritual director. Trained in Ignatian Retreats.
SR. BLANAID GALLAGHER: Experienced teacher and
pastoral worker. Facilitator of Centering Prayer Groups.Works
on a Retreat Team.
ANN HEALY: BA (Hons.) Eng.Lit. Media & Cultural Studies
(IADT). Experienced teacher of crafts.
MARIELE HESPER: BA, H Dip in Ed., Diploma in Special
Education, UCD. Native German speaker. Experienced teacher
at second and third level.
MARIANNE HOLLAND: Graduate of the Irish Yoga
Association, with years of experience in this field. Also gives

SR. HONOR McCABE: BA, H.Dip, UCC. MA in Spiritual
Development, Maryvale Institute. Experienced teacher at
secondary and tertiary levels.
SR. MARY McCOOEY: M.Sc., B.Mus., Board Certified
Music Therapist, with wide experience in this field.
ROSALEEN POWER: NT. Many years' experience, with a
particular interest in Art & Craft.
SR. FIONNUALA QUINN: MA in Religious Education,
Spiritaul Director and Retreat giver.
FR. PIERRE SIMSON: M.Afr. Many years' experience in
tutoring scripture students in Kenya, Uganda and Jerusalem. Has
worked with Adults' Bible Groups in recent years in Dublin.
DÁIRE STEVENSON: BA, Irish and Economics, H.Dip.
UCD. Experienced Irish teacher with children and adults.
BEATRICE STEWART: MA, Artist, with many years'
experience working with adults. Has exhibited her own work in
many venues.
MARY VAUGHAN: BA in Theology & Philosophy, MA in
Biblical Studies, Milltown Institute.
GENERAL INFORMATION

POSTAL BOOKINGS: to Adult Education Centre,
Dominican Convent, Sion Hill, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.
FEES are payable in advance as classes must be cancelled
if numbers booking for them are insufficient. Mode of
payment is by cheque, or money order - cash is
acceptable if one is registering in person.
REGISTRATION: (a) In person at the centre on
Tuesday, 10th January andWednesday, 11th January
- 10.30am-12 noon or
(b) By post - at least two weeks before the classes
commence. Refunds are given only if a course is
cancelled by the Centre.
INSURANCE: The Centre does not accept any
responsibility for personal injury attendees may suffer
while on the premises, inside or outside it, nor for any
property mislaid, stolen or damaged anywhere on the
campus.
TRANSPORT:
(A) CARS: Entrance is from Merrion Avenue only: the
turn for this (no gate) is on the right as you come up the
avenue from Blackrock, shortly before the traffic lights at
Cross Avenue. Car parking is in front and also at the
side of the Centre.
(B) DART: to Blackrock Station (10-15 minutes walk to
the Centre).
(C) BUSES: Nos. 5 and 17 stop near the traffic lights,
close to Sion Hill - on Merrion Avenue.
Nos. 7, 7A, 8 and 45 stop at the Blackrock
end of Merrion Avenue, beside the park.
Nos. 46A, 63, 64, 84 stop at the Stillorgan
end of Merrion Avenue (15 minutes walk
down to the Centre) or 17 bus.
PLEASE NOTE: Mobile phones must be turned off
when one is attending a class. Also any necessary calls
need to be made, or taken, outside of the classroom.
Rental Matters: Some rooms in the Centre are
available for meetings, courses etc., (but not on a fulltime
basis). For details telephone 288 2075.

1. Jeremiah - A Great Prophet 24 Jan.-13 Mar.
Pierre Simson, M.Afr. 10.30-12.00 noon
His name does not immediately bring to ourminds images of joy, of
enthusiasm. So often it is connected in our memories with
'Lamentations'. But, actually if Jeremiah did lament at times - and
rightly so - he is also a great herald of hope - hope in a God who is
full of compassion, a God who offers us a 'New Covenant', which
will renew our hearts. Jeremiah will help us on our way to Jesus'
Passion, but also to the great triumph of His love at Easter. €90

5. Centering Prayer - Introduction 24 Jan.-13 Mar.

This course introduces the method of Centering Prayer and looks
at prayer as relationship, use of the Sacred Word and deepening
one's relationship with God. It includes DVDs featuring Cistercian,
