August Reflection: The Assumption |
August is a time of completion. The summer is over, at least in more northern countries; the days are noticeably shorter. Autumn is closing in, but has not yet established herself. The green ripples in the cornfields are turning to gold, fruit is ripening in the orchards.

Breathing: A Thought for January |
We take our breathing for granted and rarely if ever stop to take a breath and examine it in depth. For the new year ahead it may be a worthwhile experience to become more consciously aware of what breathing is all about.

January, the Threshold of a New Year |
In the month of January we are at the threshold of a new year. In our gut, we may feel the insecurity of not knowing what this new year will bring, but we are children of our time and as likely as not, we will push the feeling aside.

Thinking about the month of Mary brings back very pleasant memories to
me, especially my own childhood experience of the May altar in Primary
School. The competition among us children to be the one to bring in
the fresh flowers for the altar each day!
