Advent: A Poem-Reflection |
|
|
|
Advent
a waiting and a coming
an anticipation and a presence.
Our very earth home holds the balance of the two.
One part awash in sunlight,
Another mantled in the dark
Waiting for the mid point beam
To split, shatter and scatter the heavy weave.
If we could know the summer's heat in winter,
and feel the sunshine on the darkest day!
Advent,
season of dichotomy,
you know the secret
Light anticipated and yet here
Divinity awaited in its presence.
The Advent soul
Holds light and darkness
The barren and abundant
The fallow and the active time
As One.
