Sister Honor McCabe the happy author, explained why she chose the title A Light Undimmed.
The donor of the building – the present convent – and the vast lands accompanying it was Countess Atalaya, Dona Iria de Brito.
Sometime after bequeathing her property, to be used as a convent, she had a dream. In her dream she saw five young women each with a lighted candle, she wakened up in anguish for fear of a conflagration.
It was only after seeing the five first postulants, holding lighted candles that she related her dream. A Light Undimmed was born.
