Summer Course and Conference Day – 28th July – 1 August 2016, Emmaus Retreat Centre, Swords, Co. Dublin.

In 2016, the Order of Preachers will celebrate a Jubilee Year with the theme “Sent to preach the Gospel”.

This marks the 800th anniversary of the official foundation of the Order by Pope Honorius III.

Last October Sr Martina (Mission Area Prioress of Ireland) and her Council invited all interested sisters in the Cabra Congregation to a meeting to consider possible ways of celebrating Dominican Jubilee 800. Following that meeting a small group of sisters met while attending Donal Dorr’s conference on Pope Francis’s encyclical at An Tairseach. The outcome of that meeting was a proposal to a put on a four day residential conference on Care of the Earth with special reference to Laudato Si.

The conference would be open to all branches of the order as well as to other lay people who might not be officially connected to the Order but who were involved in some way in Dominican ministry. It was envisaged that one day of the conference would stand alone and be open to those who for one reason or another could not attend the full four days. We hope particularly to attract some young people. If you are interested please contact, download the application form below and fill it in.
