Congregation’s Safeguarding Sunday: First Sunday of Lent (10th March 2019)
Our Congregation Safeguarding Committee have agreed to nominate the 1st Sunday of Lent (10th March 2019) as our Congregation’s Child Safeguarding Sunday. We invite you to use the attached prayer service on Sunday 10th March the 1st Sunday of Lent so that you can unite with us a Congregation in praying for the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
Child Safeguarding Sunday is a reminder to each one of us of our role in the safeguarding of children so that the abuse that happened in the past within the church and society should not be allowed to happen again.
As a Congregation we recognise the dignity and rights of all children and vulnerable adults and are committed to ensuring their protection and support. In keeping with this, we will work to do all in our power to create safe environments for children and vulnerable adults, to secure their protection and enable their full participation in the life of the congregation, church and society.
We are conscious that at this time the church and society are once again coming to terms with another high profile allegation of abuse. We welcome Pope Francis’s commitment to addressing the ‘wrongful abuse of children and vulnerable adults’.
Our sincere thanks to Sisters Noelle and Vicky for preparing the prayer services and making them available in both English – English Prayer Service CSG Sunday 2019 (LS)
and Spanish. ORACION DE PROTECCION DEL MENOR (002)
