Fr. Paddy McCafferty PP at Corpus Christi Parish, Belfast pays tribute to Sr. Ultan OP (RIP)
Many people from Holy Trinity, Turf Lodge – and far beyond – will remember Sr Ultan Smyth. It was my privilege and a blessing to know her and to have served in Holy Trinity along with her, 1994 to 1998.
She was the very essence of goodness, kindness and gentleness. Among her vast legacy is the establishment of St Martin’s Nursery School in Holy Trinity Parish.
Her loving and prayerful presence at the heart of the parish, the faithful witness of her life lived for the Lord, made a profound impression on several generations of parishioners.
May God rest her dear soul and reward His faithful servant. She was a blessing to us from God. Dearest Sr Ultan, we will see you in the Morning (Psalm 30:5). “O precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His faithful ones” (Psalm 116:15).
