New Congregation Justice Office
In November, the new Congregation Justice Office was set up, with Lara Kelly as the Coordinator. The office will work alongside Marie Williams in the Dominican Justice Office Ireland, and sisters and colleagues working on justice issues in Argentina, Louisiana, Lisbon and South Africa.
The purpose of the new office is to share information and learning about our justice work across borders, including our work supporting young mothers in direct provision in Ireland; literacy work, supporting vulnerable families and environmental campaigns in Argentina; prison ministry, adult education and prison reform campaigns in Louisiana, running a social centre, food bank and early childhood education centre in Lisbon and focussing on good governance in schools and fighting wider corruption in South Africa. The Congregation Justice Office will help to link up the work of sisters in different countries and also connect the Dominican Sisters Cabra to broader global campaigns for justice, including climate justice.
