Dominican Associates are like-minded lay men and women from across our regions who are drawn to and live out the charism and continue the mission of the Dominican Order which is to praise, to bless, and to preach.

Associates do not take vows, but rather make a commitment to be partners with vowed members, and strive to extend the Dominican presence across their own lives and with their families and in their churches, workplaces, neighbourhoods and communities.   Whether working as teachers, in industry, in the community or in the home, they preach the Good News through the voices of their work, their art, and their lives.

Associates meet on a monthly or quarterly basis, accompanied by a Sister and through prayer and discussion support each other and share the common goal of how to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others.  Meetings usually begin with a prayer which is followed by a discussion around faith.  There is also time for reflection so that the Associates can support one another in their daily lives.  Reflection strengthens relationships with God and people.

In Ireland, the Dominican Associates meet in various locations in Dublin including Cabra, Dun Laoghaire, Donnybrook (Muckross Park) and Ballyfermot.  The Dominican Sisters always welcome new Associates of all ages who would like to attend our meetings in Dublin or elsewhere.  For further information on becoming a Dominican Associate or to attend one of our gatherings, please contact us at regionop@gmail.com.
